Emerald
is a form of beryl and is regarded as the most precious stone in the beryl group (another form of beryl is the crystal aquamarine).
Dark green emerald tends to be the most popular colour shade. Emerald has been used extensively in the past and is believed
to have first been discovered by the Incas, in amongst clusters of calcite. Emperor Nero made emerald famous by having a special
emerald, which he used to look through when watching gladiator games. It was also associated with Venus and Aphrodite, signifying
the power of love.
Metaphysical
Properties:
The
energy of emerald is typically associated with abundance, richness and wealth. In the past it's been regarded as a royal colour,
which has helped reinforce this feeling. It's also associated with loyalty, harmony and love and can be used as a tool for
stimulating the heart chakra and opening yourself up to loving yourself and other people.
